Hey Everyone!
I'm back from my trip to Wizard World Chicago, my first convention ever, and I have to say I had a great time and it's nice to know I'm not alone, tons of people from collectors to artists, it was great! I brought my portfolio, mini-comics, and a outline for the book I've been working on and presented it to AP Comics, Alias, Ape Entertainment, Speakeasy, and some others. Not sure if anyone will bite, but everyone was nice and gave me some great comments on my pages! I was happy, I guess I thought most pro artists and editors were going to torch it, but it really seemed they liked what they saw! The editor at Ape actually said he'd like to see some pages from me and it supposed to call or something, so that's pretty neat!
I also got to meet some of my heroes and find some new one's. I met Skottie Young, Ryan Ottley (invincible), Robert Kirkman, J Bleep (urban sequence), and Devart's favorite son Sean 'Cheeks' Galloway, who is a very cool dude. Actually everyone I met was very, very nice!
So I got to hang out with everyone, look at all the cool art and creators and have a great time, it rocked! In fact, I'm thinking of maybe getting a booth of my own for next year!
And now that the Con is over, my mini-comic is done, and school is almost here again, I think I'm going to hunt down a colorist to do a few pages, send out some submission packages, and get to work on a few other projects I havn't devoted enough time to lately.
Thanks again Everyone!
Chad
